A New Era Dawns

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are entering a new era under head coach Joey McGuire in 2024. The Rebels are coming off a 10-3 season in 2022 and are ranked No. 12 in the preseason AP Poll. Texas Tech also has road games against the Oklahoma Sooners, the Texas Longhorns, and the TCU Horned Frogs. The Red Raiders close out the season at home against the Baylor Bears.

Expectations

Expectations for the Red Raiders in 2024 are low. The team is picked to finish last in the Big 12 by many preseason publications. However, McGuire is confident that the team can improve on its 5-7 record from 2022. The Red Raiders have a lot of talent on the roster, and McGuire is a proven winner. If the Red Raiders can stay healthy and avoid injuries, they have the potential to surprise some people in 2024.
