Animated Gif Playback Problem Premiere

Convert Videos to GIFs with Premiere Pro: Troubleshooting Lag

Lagging GIFs

Premiere Pro allows users to easily convert video clips into animated GIFs. However, some users have encountered a problem where the output GIFs are laggy or slow-paced, despite the input videos being smooth.

Fixing the Lag

To resolve this issue, check the following settings in Premiere Pro:

  1. Speed/Duration: Ensure that the "Speed/Duration" setting is set to "00.00002" or higher. This value determines the speed at which the GIF plays.
  2. Output Format: Select "GIF" as the output format when exporting the animated GIF.
  3. Export Settings: Open the "Export Settings" dialog box and adjust the following settings:
    • Width: Set the width of the GIF to match the desired size.
    • Height: Set the height of the GIF to match the desired size.
    • Frame Rate: Select a frame rate that is appropriate for the desired animation speed.
    • Dither Method: Choose a dither method to reduce color banding in the GIF.

By following these steps, you can troubleshoot and resolve the lag issue when exporting animated GIFs in Premiere Pro, ensuring smooth and optimal playback.
